New Aakash Tablet Will Launch Next Month.. Will feature capacitive screen, faster CPU, and twice the RAM as before.

New Aakash Tablet Will Launch Next Month
The new and improved Aakash tablet is all set for an April launch. According to HRD minister, Kapil Sibal, despite the hardware upgrade, the new version will have the same price tag as that of the original.

For starters, the gadget will feature a capacitive touchscreen instead of a resistive one. Under the hood will be a Cortex A8 CPU clocked at 700 MHz. The RAM would also be upped to 512 MB. It's claimed that the device's 3200 mAh battery will keep it running for about 3 hours.

The picture isn't as rosy on the software front, as the new Aakash will be based on the oldAndroid 2.2 (Froyo). On the bright side, it has been speculated that the tablet will have access to the Android Market, now known as the Google Play Store. Sibal said that the first wave of one lakh (lac) tablets will be provided to students from higher technical educational institutions, to garner feedback.

The new Aakash surely has better hardware than the original. However, spec-wise it's still no match to the PAC-PAD 1.

Rumour: Google Tablet Could Surface In May,,. The "new iPad" might face a real competitor in two months.

Google Tablet Could Surface In May
Google is reportedly prepping the launch of its latest "Nexustablet" and it could happen as early as May. The company has chosen ASUS to produce the new 7" Android tab. While even the specifications are unknown, the price is widely expected to be around $149-199. This rumour has apparently originated from an anonymous senior employee at a US-based supply chain company for the device who has claimed, "It's a done deal!"
Google seldom makes a direct association with any device. Devices carrying the "Nexus" brand are usually the ones wholly endorsed by it to serve as role-models for others to follow. Therefore, these gadgets are deemed capable of running its OS as the company intends it to work ideally. At this expected cost, the tablet is half as expensive as the new iPad, and on par with the likes of Amazon Kindle Fire that tasted big success last year. While it is unlikely to be a high-powered tablet, the Nexus name virtually ensures that it will be a cut above the rest. We will not have to wait for long to find out as the new tab is expected to make an appearance at the CTIA event in New Orleans that will be held from 8 to 10 May.

Samsung Announces GALAXY Tab 2 310

Samsung has added yet another tablet to its GALAXYseries; seriously, I've lost the count. The new entrant is a 7" slate called the GALAXY Tab 2 310. According to the company, the device will feature Android 4.0 (ICS) out of the box.

The Tab 2 310 is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core CPU and has 1 GB of RAM. The gadget features a 3 MP main and a front VGA camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, although it is not known at the moment if 3G is also present. Navigation is aided by an inbuilt GPS module. The tablet will come in 8, 16, and 32 GB variants. Additionally, the microSD card slot will allow you to expand the memory further. The device measures 7.6" (l) x 4.8" (w) x 0.4" (d), and weighs under 350 grammes.

The tablet will allow you to make voice calls using GSM, along with the company's cross-platform ChatON messenger. The Tab 2 310 is expected to hit the Asian markets as early as April. However, there's no official word on its pricing yet.

3 Million iPads Sold In 3 Days..Apple sets new sales record, thanks to overwhelming demand.

3 Million iPads Sold In 3 Days
Apple has reportedly sold a whopping three million units of the new iPad within three days of its launch last week. This is a new record in the opening weekend iPad sales and is three times that of its predecessor. While it initially went on sale in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, US Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong, it will be sold in 24 other countries starting 23 March. The tablet is one of the biggest sources of revenue for the company, and its huge sales are therefore going to give the company a shot in the arm.
The new iPad has several improvements over its predecessor. It has a faster CPU and graphics, a high resolution Retina display, and an HD camera. In accordance with Apple's tradition, you can now buy the new model at the same price as the older model, while the price of the older model has been made more affordable. While it is available in several more countries around the world later in the month, India still does not figure on the list. As of now, no date has been set for an India launch, but we will keep you posted with any info that comes our way.
